from the looks of it, it looks like rinnegan/sharingan but the sage did make reference of the sharingan only but then, its obvious it is rinnegan also since he said madara mixed the 2 bloodlines together to get his blood which unlocks the rinnegan, and the sage is not without his own blood so he obviously had the rinnegan

the sage had rinnegan because he is kaguya's son, but kaguya doesn't have it because she got sharingan

It's a 9+ tomoes sharingan , like Juubi's when he came to take back his chakra.
It may be more powerfull than 2 simple 3 tomoes sharingans , rinnengan techniques can't act on the whole world , this sharingan can.

Apples and oranges. I think it becomes less about the eyes and more about the user after a certain point. The rinnegan is probably the strongest dojutsu on its own ( the abilities it gives it users ) but the combination of the byakugan and sharingan may trump that, again depending on the user. I'm inclined to think kaguya would solo blind for what it's worth.

Since Kaguya is the origin of all ninjusu I feel like she must have possessed all dojutsu. She had all three. Where they were placed....Idk. Maybe she could just "use" the powers.
