Sharingan&Byakugan ability to see through clones

So can both the sharingan and byakugan differ between clones and the real one? I thought Byakugan could but when Naruto fought Neji I think he distributed the chakra evenly so he couldnt tell which was real, so would this work against the sharingan also?

I think I remember a time when Madara said his eyes were the only one that could see through Hashirama's ruse(wood clones).

I didnt know if the type of clone made a difference or not either. Perhaps the sharingan could track the original easier. It's surprising even Kaguya's eyes couldn't tell the real one

im pretty sure it depends on the skill of the clone user.
if dispersed properly then no, but im pretty sure if the opponent could "see" chakra, then a novice would be clear.

Sharingan sees through clones by differentiating the clone's movements from the original, but they literally cannot see through clones in a literal sense.

I believe Sharingan and Byakugan users can distinguish between Elemental Clones and the Original but not SHADOW Clones and the User.

Shadow Clones are inherently different from other clones. But Elemental Clones are composed of the element, and I believe that composition allows them to be detected by chakra vision users. Now, if it's an Elemental Shadow clone tech, like the Lightning Shadow Clone tech Kakashi uses, it would still fall under Shadow Clone, meaning Sharingan and Byakugan users couldn't tell the difference.

If I recall correctly, Hashirama used Wood Clones, not Wood Shadow Clones, so they were composed of Wood Release (Water and Earth). Given that, it makes sense that Madara could see water and earth chakra surging through Hashi's clone to tell it wasn't the original.
