Since it's been so long for you, let's start on the broad basics. Just give me the general overview of what the Sharingan, how it works in the RP, and then tell me what changes between a 1T and 2T Sharingan.

As far as what I know about the Sharingan ...

I know that there's a link between the Sharingan and emotions. The Doujutsu itself is awakened in response to sufficient physical and/or emotional stress. Likewise, for it to progress to Mangekyou Sharingan requires that the user experience the traumatizing loss of someone precious. Even the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan is obtained by transplanting the eyes of a close relative into one's self. The Shinto religion postulates that Gods and spirits reside in everything, so having EMS is like carrying around a piece of their soul with you. One might say it's like they're watching over and protecting you.

As far as abilities go, the Sharingan grants two: insight and hypnosis. As the eye of insight, the Sharingan has the ability to see and distinguish between different kinds of chakra. For example, (I think) the Sharingan can differentiate between things like water element and fire element chakra. It can also see the irregularities in a person's chakra flow (like those caused by Genjutsu). Once the Sharingan advances to a certain level, it also grants certain predictive abilities. Users become able to track fast speeds and predict how someone might attack based on the minute bodily movements leading up to said attack. Additionally, user's are endowed with the ability to copy and memorize almost any jutsu they see, assuming they are physically capable of performing said technique.

As the eye of hypnosis basically allows one to utilize a unique brand of Genjutsu that are known for bending a persons sense of reason and understanding (or something like that). Users are also able to pierce and see through illusions used against them, depending on the maturity of their Sharingan (sorry I got a bit lazy here).

I didn't originally know the specific difference between the 1 tomoe and 2 tomoe Sharingan, but LoK's Guide to the Sharingan really helped. Upon gaining the second tomoe, users can track faster speeds (2x) whereas the first tomoe could only track (1.5x). It also allows users to predict -- to some extent -- an opponents next move by reading their handseal performance and anticipating specific jutsu. Finally, with the 2nd tomoe, users can pierce through C Rank and below Genjutsu.
