Not really, that would have been the reason for the fighting to start afresh which was not the reason why shanks came to marineford. On top of that he needed to know who he was fighting, cause if he was going to take on Blackbeard and his crew then he could not waste Kings Haki on fodder.

And more than that it is a one shot thing that requires a cool-down period after being used, so its not something to be used for show-off.
