Shanks vs Mihawk

Sooo, on the left we have Hawk-Eyes Mihawk, allegedly the strongest swordsman in the world.

Then, on the right we have Shanks. As far as I know he doesn't have any Devil Fruit abilities and uses a sword as his weapon of choice.

My question is: does this make Shanks a swordsman and thus make him weaker than Hawk-Eyes?

I know Hawk-Eyes and Shanks are not likely to cross swords since they're good buddies, but I would estimate that Shanks is stronger or at LEAST on the same level as Mihawk (being one of the four emperors and all).

Hmm this one is a hard one because it's Mihawk was said to go after shanks for a battle and their battle was heard all across the Grand Line

not really...and they used to fight regularly in the GL..also mihawk may be more skilled than shanks in swordmasnhip but shank's haki may be superior..

I would say they are equals, you notice from the way they talk to eachother (as if both of them were classmates or something xd).
