[Discussion] Shanks or Luffy

In the latest episode, Luffy said he's planning to fight all 4 Yonkos. Which means it's a matter of time b4 he fights Shanks.

When they both fight, who will you be rooting 4 ??

I'd go with Shanks myself.

I honestly think Shanks is going to die before Luffy meets him again, most likely by the hands of Blackbeard. But if it they really did end up fighting, then I'd root for Luffy. I want him to finally surpass Shanks.

i feel like that would be the last fight cause when he meets him hes gonna give that hat back or some shit and he wouldnt look right without it unless shanks dies in the fight and he keeps the hat.

That's too much of a troll, which Oda wouldn't do. The closest scenario that might happen to that would be Luffy meeting Shanks near death and giving him his last words then putting his hat on his dead body. (Rushing to beat BB)

OT: I don't think they'll fight lol possibly a friendly duel but Luffy would lose.

I doubt the fight will end. There will be interference. Also Luffy vs Shanks will be the last to happen among the Four Emperors.
Plus that means we will have to wait atleast Ummmmm....three years

3 years is extremely fast for that. Luffy won't progress that fast and nice signature.

Hard to say. I like both (they're both at the top of my fav characters list). Although i do like Shanks a little more (Shanks fan over here) so i would naturally root for him. But since it's Luffy's goal to beat Shanks i'll probably root for him.

Guys, just imagine Luffy's rage and massacre look if Shanks dies by the hand of Blackbeard himself. Luffy made promises with both Shanks and Ace in the past. Luffy will give back the straw hat to Shanks when he becomes a great pirate, while Ace and Luffy planned to meet at the "pirates summit". But the promise with Ace was broken because of Blackbeard. It would be a great twist if Blackbeard ruined the second promise as well.

Blackbeard has obviously become stronger. Also, he managed to kill Whitebeard because the situation played out that way. It's not always the strongest who wins.

I can see Luffy crying , and giving Shanks his hat back while he is dying or when he's already dead. You pretty much explained it.

See the post above. Have you not considered that BB can get stronger? He could become a Haki MONSTER. Or get even more OP devil fruits. Probably both.
