Apparently few years back I remember people used to say that Shanks never fought with Kaido n prolly gave him a Poneglyph to shrug him off even tho it was explicitly said that there was a skirmish between Red Hair Pirates n Kaido

Ch1001 confirmed - That Shanks and Kaido did fought at some point of time.

Notice Shanks isn't wearing his Straw hat, which again suggest it was after he met Luffy.

So this fight could very well happened during Impel Down Arc.

As much absurd it sounds like giving a Poneglyph to your Enemy, it makes even clearer after Zou n WCI that Poneglyphs r like treasures guarded by strongest in OPverse.

Heck Kaido still haven't shown his to BM even tho she enquired about it.

Here it was explicitly said that the winner of this battle will have everything - Your Crew, Your Treasure, Your Poneglyphs.

And people thought Shanks would gift Kaido a Poneglyph why? Because he doesn't want him to go to Marine Ford. pffff...

I am actually happy that Oda pointed out that Kaido did fought with Shanks.

Also it couldn't be like a heaven split like moment(WB Vs Shanks) as he would have then put BM in that group.

It has to be a full fledged fight or atleast like Oden Vs Kaido.

So it's official now:
Shanks had fought Mihawk (WGS)
Shanks had fought White Beard(WSM)
Shanks had fought Kaido (WSC)
And Shanks doesn't even have a title lol.

Damn he proved himself to be worthy of that Strawhat just like his Captain.
Now it's Luffy's turn.

Yea given Shanks probably has strongest of all haki forms i would say he might be stronger than kaido and big mom.

Regarding the kaido's defeat i do think it probably happened around the time Shanks became yonko. Kaido seems to have huge respect for him neverthless.
