Needs a reboot.
Agreed and it actually had the chance of one by studio MAPPA (most likely) but was refused by Takei because they couldn't get the original voice actors. It would've been perfect timing if it got a reboot since 2018 would've marked it's 20th anniversary.

I need to get to that, only watched it on TV as a kid.
Yea, I watched as a kid when it was airing in the early 2000's...good times...but it was 4kids dub for me I think.

Btw manga over anime. Read the manga here

It contains the chapters from the kanzenban (the true ending to the manga). If you didnt know the original ending of SK was abrupt (cancelled) so the kanzenban contains the true ending which was released later.

The true ending? It's an additional 15 chapters. If the series was really that close to ending on it's own then why would Jump still cancel it? Maybe on it's own it was going to end chapter 350 for example, but since Jump cancelled it, the Author revised the story and made a good ending for it in 15 chapters for the Kanzenban.

Yes the Kanzenban has the true ending.

Not really...this wiki page sums it up on why he cancelled it.
Takei declared it was not a decrease on the series profitability that was the reason for its cancellation, but a "fatigue" he had been through because he was no more able to follow his fans' wishes. In the author's opinion, Shaman King was being "normalized" by the desire of his readers with the introduction of typical shōnen aspects and losing its originality.

This was basically the first anime I ever watched from the start to finish. A part of my childhood I will never forget. I think I was around 7... I then rewatched it two times at age 12 and 15.

That was said about the sequel series - Shaman King Flowers.Which was serialized in another magazine as a monthly series.
No, this was said about SK in WSJ, not flowers
