shikmaru see multiple clone running towards him (lets make it three ) he start focuses his chakra into his feet then channel it into his shadow. he then manipulate the shadow to form into three tendril that move towards the clone and as the tendril reach the clone he use the tendril to impale the clone body. he then focuses his chakra to create three more tendril from pre-existing tendril(one tendril per one pre-existing tendril). he manipulate the three tendril to take three kunai from his pouch and throw it into the clone head making it disperse.

shikamaru three more shadow running towards him. like he did before he focuses his chakra in his feet and channel it into his shadow. he then again create three tendril that move towards the clone. as the tendrils touch the clone shadow shikamaru use shadow neck bind technique to make the tendrils coil around the clone body in the form of hand that strangle the clone. the clone coudnt handle the force of the strangle making it disperse.

"advantage of this tech is eventhough two jutsu been use at once it doesnt require handseal and it can be use to pick up things. disadvantage of this tech is if use without distraction it can easily been dodge or countered...urm.. thats all I guess.

in battle this tech would be good to use when we are facing multiple target because you can create multiple tendril at once.

seeing the clone approaching shikamaru quickly focuses his chakra to his feet then channel it to his shadow. he then manipulate the shadow to make it form into a circle of shadow around him. as the clone reach to short range he quickly manipulate the cicular shadow to form a tendril that come out in all direction around him and skewer the clone that coming towards him making it disperse.

shikmaru then proceeds to explain about the tech.

shikamaru focuses his chakra into his feet then channel the chakra into his shadow he keep a constant flow of chakra in his shadow. as he apply shape manipulation into the shadow, he make the shadow move towards the clone. when shikamaru shadow reach the clone shadow both shadow start to merge and making the clone stop and paralyze. shikamaru then take a kunai from his pouch and throw it into the shadow head making it disperse.

"advantage of this tech is it dont require handseal and it cant completely restrict opponent movement. disadvantage of this tech is it can easily be dodge if being use head on.

Its similar to the other technique, that also extends the shadow in a circular manner, but this one is short to mid range, so it would better fit that illustration you showed me earlier. Use it against my clone."

shikamaru focuses his chakra into his feet and channel it into his shadow. after that shikamaru manipulate the shadow to create a huge circle of shadow around him that expand up to mid range. when the clone run into the circle many a few tendrils of shadow rise then impale the clone making it disperse.
