1. If said person knows how to use multi-Shadow clone jutsu and happens to also know genjutsu, he can trap multiple targets in genjutsu easily. Thus, why guys who have both shadow clones AND genjutsu are able to fodderize teams like the Gokage without effort, like Madara and Hiruzen.
2. Shadow Clones are also able to maintain a corner of the Hokage barrier. The Hokage barrier was able to defend against the Juubi's continent buster, easily the best defensive feat in canon. Thus, people who know shadow clones and know how to use the barrier can use the 4 sided barrier by himself using clones such as Hiruzen, Minato, Hashirama, and Tobirama.
3. Amaterasu ignites everything in it's line of sight. All one needs to do to counter Amaterasu is create a shadow clone in front of him, and the technique is evaded. Thus, niggas such as Hiruzen, Minato, Tobirama, Hashirama, Madara, Deidara etc. can easily counter Amaterasu.
