Chapter 1: Backstory of Dustin
“Dustin…” I heard a voice… The voice seemed so new, but familiar. “Dustin, wake up” My eyes finally shot open. There was a small asian man standing in front of me, he had dark brown hair, bushy eyebrows that sheltered his blue black eyes from the sweat pouring down his forehead. He seemed as if he had just swam took a shower and didn’t dry off, then he suddenly slapped me.
“My eyes are open! I am awake!” I said yelled, but he pulled his sweaty palm over my mouth, he smelled like iron.
“Dustin, be quiet. They don’t know you’re down here yet” he said in a hushed voice.
“They? Who is ‘they’?”
“I’ll tell you later, but right now” he stopped and untied me, “I have to introduce you to a new world”
“Are you trying to rape me!?” I shouted in a low voice, “I will tell you, I will not be victimized!” the old man sighed and attempted to put his hand on my shoulder, even though I was taller than him, he is a child’s high in comparison to me.
I threw a punch to his face but he caught me and flipped me onto my back. For a man of his stature, he had a monstrous strength. I got up and rubbed by back with a pained expression.
“Now… Will you just cooperate, Dustin?” he said. I sighed.
“Fine. But, tell me your name first” I demanded.
“You will learn in time” he began walking up to a cold-stone and placed his palm on the wall. We were in a small spaced, seemed like a triple closet in a school. After a while or touching the wall, he began to chant some incantation towards it causing a bright line pattern to scatter in the shape of a door that led downwards.
He motioned me to proceed downward with him, and I did. As we continued through the tunnel, the white light grew brighter, almost blinding light but you get used to it eventually.
Finally, we ended up in a room with 6 chairs all facing one chair in the middle. The old man turned to me.
“Now, to answer your question. I am Juko” He began.
“Juko?” I said, fishing for a last name.
“You will address me as Juko. And no need to introduce your name, Dustin Blake. Please, take a seat” I was annoyed that he wouldn’t give out his information, but seemed to have so much information on me, but I still took a seat cause as we entered the room, the tunnel closed behind us.
He sat down in front of me, nearly motionless and closed his eyes.
“Now, Dustin, I want you to close your eyes” I did what he said. “Next, I want to you begin about your past” I shook my head.
“No, I don’t want to go there. Can we talk about something else?”
“No, we can’t simply talk about something else. Just begin, I will not judge you” I sighed.

I grew up in Beverly Hills, California. I went to school like a normal person, did homework like a normal person, had choirs, sibling rivalry, you name it. But, I wasn’t a normal kid. My mother and father are A-List actors, and were well known throughout the town. Both my sisters are beginning to breakthrough in acting, both already winning several awards. However, I was not into the fame, I just wanted a normal life.
Living a normal life while your whole family are big names is very hard, I couldn’t go through a drive through without someone recognizing the features I share with my mother, or how I sound like my father. All their stupid endless questions involved: “Will you ever become a actor?”, “Do you at least sing or rap or something?”, “Do you envy your sisters?”. Awkward questions I just left unanswered.
Then, one day, I had enough. I told my mother and father that I would be visiting a friend in San Francisco and left the following night, but I never returned. I recently had read Jon Krakauer’s novel, Into the Wild, and found inspiration in Christopher McCandless, but I was not getting rid of my identity.
The following week, I drove out to the LAX and caught the next plan to New York. From there, I drove out to Windsor, Connecticut and began living there. Being that I spent a lot of money on the plane ride, I rented an apartment in Windsor and got a job at a local fast food chain.
There were days I’d work in both the mornings and nights just to maintain my money because I didn’t want to waste the amount I took with me. Eventually, it became a struggle and I moved out to Hartford since apartments where cheaper. I managed to get another job at a supermarket, but ended up getting fired because a costumer complained that I didn’t assist them even though I told them that we do not sell animals in our store, the manager was an idiot.
I managed to survive the winter months in my apartment with the money I brought with me, but I was eventually evicted the second week of May. I lived on the streets for the whole month. In the time, I was robbed of my wallet which had my ID, jumped by a group of teenagers, and verbally assaulted so many times that I can’t even count it.
But, in the middle of July, I was kidnapped by this old man. He told me he was looking for someone and told me I looked like him, but when I turned around to sleep in my corner, everything went dark. Then, I remembered waking up here.

“I see, you have had a rough life” Juko said. I sadly nodded, and looked up.
“Now, why did you want to hear that?” I asked.
“Because I wanted to make sure… Let me ask one more question, if that’s alright with you” I prepared for the question, “Are you proud of your past?” I stopped and thought about the question. It made me realize how I endured all of this and how it changed me.
“Honestly, I am… The past has shaped me into who I am now. I am proud of what I’ve gone through” I said.
“Then you are the one. Listen, Dustin. I want you to repeat after me, alright?” I nodded. I suddenly felt a lot more comfortable with him. “I am Dustin Blake, Wielder of Pride and Satisfaction. One of the Seven Sin Assassins”
Although I was confused, I repeated as he said. Suddenly, seven doors appeared behind him. The sixth door opened and his face was shining from happiness.
“I was positive it was going to be you, Dustin. You are one of the Seven Sin Assassins” Juko said.
“Seven Sin Assassins?” I asked, “No, no. I can’t be an assassin. I barely have training on how to fight”
“That doesn’t matter, all that matters is that you opened one of the doors. You are an assassin. Now, we must find the other five, and, with you, it’ll be easier”
“Easier to find them?”
“That, and easier to stop the evil that is grown upon the world” I grew a little scared. “I will explain this all after we find the other five, but right now we have to go out of order and find our second assassin”
“Do we know where he or she is?”
“Yes… She lives in a region unknown to me at this moment within Europe, somewhere between France and Germany. Her name is Desire Newman” I began laughing and Juko turned to me. “What’s so funny?”
“H-her name” I laughed harder. “She desire’s a new man”
“Grow up” Juko said.
“I’m 26”
