IMO Kushina Uzamaki is a very powerful shinobi and is overlook most times when spoken of in terms of her skill. This tread will be my attempt to use all the evidence I could come across to prove that kushina was indeed a very strong, skilled, and gifted shinobi and quite possibly kage level. I am in no way a TROLL and as i stated before I will use FACTS and a few agreeable assumptions to try to sway this NarutoBase to look at this gifted shinobi in a new light.
I would like to First bring you alittle knowledge of the uzamaki clan:
The Uzumaki clan (うずまき一族, Uzumaki Ichizoku) was a prominent clan in Uzushiogakure. Members of this clan were very knowledgeable in the art of fūinjutsu. This reputation earned them renown and fear worldwide, which eventually led to the destruction of Uzushiogakure, and the rest of the Land of Whirlpools during the era of Shinobi World Wars. With the destruction of their homeland, the survivors fled the country going into hiding scattered all around the world.
These are abilites that kushina posseses that i would like to bring light to:
Stamina/Longevity
It is widely known in the NarutoVerse that the uzamaki clan is gifted with incredibly longevity and lifeforce. This was proven when kushina survived her tailed beast extraction and still had power to hold off kurama. Later in her weakened state she was even able to survive (though for a short time) being impaled through the chest by kurama.
Not only does this prove crazy stamina and life force, but it also proves that she can take one hell of an @$$ beating and still have the will to continue fighting. Much like her son.
Fuinjutsu
Kushina was BROUGHT to Konoha from Uzushiogakure, which illustrates that she has knowledge of her clan and their skill and was most likely taught basic finjutsu whilst there. When she arrived to Konoha she was introduced and mentored by Mito (1st hokage's wife) who is an uzamaki herself and very fimiliar if not a master of the finjutsu the uzamaki are capable of, seeing how she herself became the 9-tails first jinchuriki.
This leads me to believe that Mito showed and taught Kushina finjutsu to help her with the process of becoming a jinchuriki and finjutsu of her clan.
If nothing else, I fnd it reasonable that Kushina knew these 4 fuinjutsu's:
1. Uzumaki Sealing Technique VERY IMPORTANT TECH
2. Four Symbols Seal
3. Eight Trigrams Sealing Style
4. Dead Demon Consuming Seal
And lets not forget this very important fact:
Kushina taught minato Most if not all of the seals he knows, which is proof in itself that she was very capable of fuinjutsu.
Ninjutsu/Chakra Chains
Last point i would like to talk about is Kushina's only know form of ninjutsu... Her Chakra Chains. These things make her a force, but i dont think the have recieved the attention they fully deserve.
First let me just speak of her chakra chains. From what we know they are very strong and very fast. Powerful enough to hold down a FULL POWER (ying and yang) kurama easily, while kushina is SEVERELY weakened. If it can hold down Kurama and EACH of his tails, then it can bind and hold anyone with the exception being tobi of course. And they can come at you from any direction even underground.
This is a feat of only powerful shinobi. The ability to hold tailed beast at bay are only held by people like 3rd raikage, 1st hokage, and Madara. Now i am in no way saying that Kushina is as powerful as these people, but i am stating that she too has the ability to make the tailed beast her b!+ch.
Now lets talk about another one of her abilities that is often overlooked her chakra chain barrier. This IMO is another one of her trump cards. This grants her a real absoulte defense.
The Third hokage, God of shinobi, the one who knows 1000 jutsu, the professor, genius himself when he reached her barrier stated that there is NOTHING they (himself or anbu) could do to get passed it. That is a hell of a sheild. It is said that nothing can enter it and nothing can escape it. So basically if she traps you in it you arnt going anywhere and because the chains travel underground its safe to say the barrier is 360 degrees. She also could surround herself with the barrier which would protect her.
CONCLUSION
If you watch Naruto shippuden episode 249, then you will see that when she used her chains it didnt require hand signs and they were also extremely fast, bein able to completely bind the nine tails and but up the barrier all in 5 secs. Add to the fact that she could use finjutsu and has a vast chakra pool and life force and she makes one hell of a shinobi. All it takes is for her to bind you and use uzamaki sealing techinque and the match is over.
Now i am not sayin that she is the most powerful of the shinobi, but i am suggesing that she is powerful in her own right. She is an Edo tensions worst nightmare. And also someone who can combat tailed beast. And IMO she can beat many if not all of the female shinobi that challenge her.
