Seriously Kishi, can we have at least ONE guy that's pure evil?

There is always a reason that people fall, even in real-life cases, like serial killers there is generally a breaking point, something to set them off, that does not make the character any less evil, we always have a choice, some choose good, others choose evil, its as simple as that, even in Naruto that much is clear.shodaimeicon:

Madara challenging Nations doesn't make him evil; it's only your perspective. They can always hand over the Bijuus, as they aren't exactly their well-kept properties.

Orochimaru doesn't seem changed to me. He wanted to kill Sarutbi and he accomplish that. He wanted to crush Konoha, he did so. He wanted his hands back, now he has them. What exactly do you want from him now? Granted the writing has been extremely poor lately, but your logic seems strange to me.

Unless they're made in a lab no one is pure evil in Naruto, except maybe the Juubi

What some have said, Hiden and Kakuzu are pure evil
Also Zetsu seems pure evil, even though he kinda sucks

Uhm, what about Hidan? He was just pure evil, not that he had a choice..

Uchiha clan = sensitive clan- Uchiha clan hatred comes from emotion and jealousy

Orochimaru= Unknown, though Sasuke said Orochimaru did not destroy Konoha on whim

The only true villain in Naruto I saw was Hidan and Kakzu that's it.

Orochimaru counts as pure evil to me; Madara is really not all that better. Just because someone's evilness had a beginning that doesn't really justify their actions. I am not so sure if it is Kishimoto or some fans mixing justification of sb's actions with explanation.

There is usually an explanation, and not uncommon a perfectly reasonable one, behind why a character became who/ what he became. BUT that explanation does NOT constitute automatically a justification. Do you find Madara's actions justifiable? Do you find Orochimaru's actions justifiable, or Pain's, or Sasuke's, or Itachi's, or Tobirama's, or Obito's? Are they all excused and all are innocent because they might have good reasons or a traumatic past, or both? Because if we go down that path then everyone can do whatever and walk away with it because of a sappy background story.

My point is, you don't need to have an oversimplified character to say that he/she is pure evil. No matter what happened in Orochimaru's life experimenting on humans is just wrong. No matter what happened in Madara's life... he really has killed thousands... also evil! Obito, don't get me started... all this just to see again his dead crush... yep, that counts as evil in my agenda.

Humans for most part are not born Naturally totally Evil, Theirs an event some ware that pushes them that way. Even the Devil, Satan started out as being good as Lucifer, His own pride change Him to what He became.

Too bad Lucifer probably doesn't exist.

I don't think true evil can ever exist. A person is evil because influences of the past made them to be that way, it's realistic writing.

Okay let me elaborate a little bit. Maybe Kishi should have held off on telling small backstories of some of the villains, or give more insight on their personality. For example, Sasori's parents, Nagato's parents and friends....Nagato being used, Kisame dying nobly, Zabuza crying, Kimimaru being used....I mean, to me, a good story has a villain that you just HATE, yet Kishi makes you empathize with almost every villain.

(Although yes I did overlook Hidan, Deidara, and Kakuzu. I like them as villains).

And now you have Obito Dent being manipulated by Madara, because of the death of Rin

And honestly, I liked it better when Itachi was a bad guy. When I thought Itachi kept Sasuke alive just to obtain EMS, I was HOLY SH*T this guy is evil.....but even that turned out to be a farce.
While some villains may have some remorse for their actions, or difficult, pain ridden upbringings, their actions still are not justifiable. If you look at villains in other stories, you will see that many of them as well have had things in their lives that made them the person that they are, the things that brought out the evil in them.

As far as Naruto villains, this tactic has been used quite a bit, but not really for every single villain. Most of the main villains have been this way, though. But look at Orochimaru...we really don't even know a great deal about his past. We know that his parents died while he was young, and he grew up during a time when war was quite prevalent.

This is no way justifies his actions though, he's definitely evil, and most Naruto reader probably don't sympathize with him. Many like him as a character but I don't think many see him as anything but pure evil at this point, after all he has done.

The sound 4 were pretty much just evil. It didn't reveal anything about any other their pasts or why they are the way that they are.(I said sound 4, excluding kimimaro) Hidan is another character most would consider pure evil.

humans being evil or good doesn't exist in human nature.

Humans undergo changes based on their experiences which makes them choose the path in life. With the exception of mentally insane ppl when they do evil acts its because they don't what they are doing.

In the series so far the juubi can represent fairy tale pure evil that as apparently its depicted as mindless killing machine a bit like insanity.

I guess you forgot about Kakuzu and Hidan

I think it is impossible to have a pure "evil" character since things like morals are very subjective to begin with.

I think that the real story behind Naruto to me is all about having hope and believing in yourself and in those around you and in never giving up until it happens. and summarize two of the main points in Naruto I think most effectively. If we view people as simply good and evil and not as individuals with reasons for their actions, then as Pain says ( ), we are doomed to a self-defeating cycle. If you want pointlessly evil characters, you simply have to search for another manga, it's just not what Naruto is about I think.

In Diedara, Kakazu, and Hidan's defense, with those abilities of theirs, is there really anything for them to do but to kill? I mean when you are that destructive, have an immortal body that really is only good for killing others, and can steal people's hearts, what else are you going to do, bake bread?

On a side note about the Juubi, it's the strongest thing in creation. The Juubi was sealed so that it could not harm the world with it's mythical power, purposefully or not. I don't think it makes it evil, just a fount of unbelievable power that the Uchiha villains are abusing. This is personally why I like Naruto and what I have found in my readings.

Seriously, most of the "bad" guys in Naruto have some tragic past that led them to become "evil", even Orochimaru. That, or they were being used by the bad guy.

The same thing happened to Tobi/Obito, and now its going to happen to Madara again.....

Your missing the root point of the message behind everyone going from good to bad. As of right now the story is about a boy who brings peace to the ninja world. So... to further realize and understand that peace ofcourse every person NAruto encounters will have a back story as to why they chose to be evil. I mean every time they talk about there past the first thing they bring up is how screwed up the ninja world is so I think kishi only does this to intesify naruto's answer to end all war and bring peace.
