Ok so if there is a thing that makes you depressed ... do you keep avoiding to think that think or the otherwise ?

You are depressed because of something, so to get undepressed you want to think of the thing making you depressed? Brilliant. Flawless logic.

Really though? It all depends on what it is.

avoiding it will not help - you can either solve it pronto - or back up your heart with somekind of hope that it will be better.

Or at worst case, you can just accept it.

Well, what I would do is.. to not think about it as it's going to cause distress and/or as an extra simply find something that can replace..the thoughts/memories causing you distress. Though I wish I could take my own advice on letting go on the things that cause me distress. But it is what it is. :)

its better to think about it enough til you get over it and are able to think about it without being depressed.

whatever it is (the thought) its not something that requires depression to think about it. :)

so get over it and smile. Lol Transform your depression into just sadness . Sad is okay. xd

not thinking about it will not help - because you will still feel the sting of it deep down - you will need to replace that deep feeling with a viable hope.

Hence why I said "Or as an extra simply find something that can replace..the thoughts/memories causing you distress." and that "Deep down sting" I feel that every day as I can't let go because I cared too much for the people who left me. The thing to do is simply get up and go find new light in the shadows. Yes it's going to hurt but that's life tho... This ain't no dreamworld LOL!

Pain is part of life, the longer we live, the more we come to realize and accept that - but that only means we have given up...unfortunately..

I agree, Known major pain all my life. Hell I made A thread but it was taken down about my third attempt in "Self-Death" but I was talked out of that.. I've gone through hell since five mate, my life hasn't been A cheerful one. I turn 19 in A few weeks tho.. And I'm trying to break free from the chains that bind me. :)

Know that youre not alone in this, there are many others who feel the same way - but remember the first rule of Evolution "only the strongest survive" - and the famous expression "what doesnt kill you makes you stronger", and "you will never know how strong you are until being strong is the only option you have"

what does all this tell you? basically that in this world the way to progress is through constant struggles - we are not really meant to enjoy life, but we are meant to survive - enjoying life is an option, a state of mind - conquer your mind and you will conquer your pain.

We all have inner demons we call them fear, hatred, anger, and pain - if we dont conquer them a life of a hundred years is a tragedy but if we do, a life of a single day is a triumph.

The most important thing is to have a Goal in life, something to strive towards - without a goal you will be surrounded by your pain as it increases without having advanced forward.

I just try to deal with it till I can find a way to make sense out of it. I use to try avoiding stuff like that but I couldn't escape it, so I had to find a way to move past it.

Yep, I fully agree with you. I'm meant to start my new part in life next month via this College like thing we have here known as Tafe, but I'm only going for either Six Months or one year. Then I get into my University of Choice so I can further learn the arts & laws of architecture. The reason why I have to go through tafe is.. at the end the of the 11th Grade, or Year 11 as we call it here. I would be visiting where I was born "Detroit, MI" w/family to see other family there...

But I knew only A Shade of shadow would linger, and that it did.. I almost killed myself.. Because, Family Wars were happening even there.. I'd already fought since five putting my family to understanding..I'd lost all hope & felt completely alone. I couldn't let my High School Friends who ended up leaving me in the end anyway, see me the way I was.. I cared too much for them instead of me.. So I dropped out & you can say that was a mistake on my part & if you do.. I'd agree with you. For now I have to go and do this to get there. But it's okay as I'll be sure to make it there!
