Serious question: Why do people like relatable characters and imperfection?

Imperfections make me want the character to get beyond them. The spoils are sweeter if the work for them is harder. Somebody perfect succeeding is boring. Somebody weak getting strong is more interesting because the outcome is uncertain.

If you don't relate to any of the characters, the message of the story( or arc atleast) would be very bland and uninteresting. The best characters are the ones you can relate too.

Perfection doesn't exist....

Your image isn't working, and not sure. The Hyuuga clan seems to defy any laws or regulations the Universe has set.
I can see it? Hmm I wonder if that's happened before?
She's so ugly she broke the link. The byakugan is basically the consolation prize that they used to give the special kid back in elementary school so they would feel special

Pretty accurate right here. The Tard wranglers don't want rampaging Hyuuga's going all around to collect. Seems like a bother.

Yup so they give them so crappy eye power, make them useless in anything beyond close range fights and tell them that they're special and that destiny made them special or some crap like that

Lol...The kicker is, 99.9 percent of the clan is basically in shackles. Like. . How bad does it get in a clan to where you must force every member but those related to main family to get, essentially, collars.
No only Hinata is ugly.
Neji looked pretty.
I don't associate with you people.

Relatable characters are characters that seem closest to you or acceptable. I can relate to Obito and Naruto easily and that is what makes the series fascinating because you can really understand the character. That's what makes this manga interesting imo. I can also say that relatable characters are more realistic.

Would you want to be a Hyuuga? No one respects you and your clan is weak and gets soloed by destiny, if you aren't from the first two families, you basically have no purpose beyond being a *** slave to Neji

I think this is a misunderstanding.

A character can be overpowered yet still have flaws, of course we read fiction for escapism and we don't really wanna see regular humans doing regular things in it, but we also don't want to see characters who succeed at everything without even trying. I too am not much into the whole rooting for the underdog thing to be honest since these tend to get repetitive, but reading the story about a god who just does everything he wants with a flick of finger would be really boring.

Would I like to be a Hyuuga? Would you like to be born with an extra chromosome? It's the same question. . .

Aww i thought we are friends but you want us not to be that way because of that group thing.

I am giving you the silent treatment until you cave to my demands.

The USA is doing the same to Cuba. It's working. . .It may take fifty+ years. But it's working

I was gonna say that I would rather be born as a retarded chimp than a Hyuuga, but then I realized they were the same thing

If people opted for perfection, then from Classical Aristotelian model's perspective - Western philosophy and Literature emerged mainly from his Poetics - people will never experience "the imitation of an Action". Action here doesn't mean action as in dictionary terms, but the Universal aspect of Human Imitation. If they do not experience this, then they would never experience 'Catharsis' - the core of Tragedy.

I think only Tragedies touch the verges of human reality. I have never viewed comedies that way. Albeit Merchant of Venice - Shakespearean dramas were never considered pure tragedies but Tragi-Comedies - despite being more along the lines of a Comedy, had many underlying racial messages. But I rather enjoyed the reality of Macbeth or Hamlet more. This is why the characters who display reality are valued, and reality lies in Hamartia and the general human flaws.

My two cents on this, as I cannot imagine or fathom anyone liking a bland character who offers no human side to him.

No, a Retarded chimp can actually ruin someone and would be useful in combat. Like, scary useful. Normal chimps have habit of biting off faces when they start to mature. Imagine a retarded one. . .Good Lord.
