But my thing is even at full strength he would have had trouble beating the class of ninja he beat while with a shadow clone. For example while learning to tame the 9 tails he made multiple shadow clones and hit Kurama with a barrage of big ball rasengans and was able to subdue him.
that was due to him haveing sage mode, which pretty much doubles chakra, and makes chakra more powerful....the more powerful chakra means it takes less to do the same technique or useing the same amount of chakra makes the technique more powerful.

So with the many clones useing tons of oodoma rasengans, it was due to the chakra being more powerful(makeing the rasengan bigger, and the increase in chakra amount makeing him able to do more of them.

So to put it simply sage mode made narutos chakra almost 2x larger, and made it stronger makeing him able to use so many large rasengans.

Natural high chakra reserve
Plus Kurama reserve (which seem to be incredibly high)
Plus Sage mode wich regenerate some

Plus by now he's might achieve to have effeciency using his chakra... remember at the begin of the manga when they were comparing sasuke, sakura and naruto need for mana doing clones.

More effeciently you're using your chakra the less you need to do the same thing

How are Narutos shadow clones so powerful?? I thought they were supposed to be weak if copied to much. Like if Naruto made one copy it would have have the originals total chakra and so on and so on. How is it that Naruto can make like 20 shadow clones and they all can for Big ball rasengans? And how did his shadow clones defeat all those S class ninjas during the war?
Welcome in the ninja world of a character with huge amounts of chakra, which was stated in manga many times by the way ;)

All KM kage bunshin have the same access to the same chakra as the original; the limit being what naruto is able to supply to the kyuubi in return

The Fight between naruto and the Kyuubi took place inside him. He loses chakra and SM when the kyuubi is winning the tug-o-war:

Naruto wins the tug-o-war, giving him access to the kyuubi's limitless chakra and being that his original body is sitting still he is able to absorb Natural energy at will, breaking his limitation of 3 clones:

There were never 20 clones where each of them could defeat S-ranked ninja. Kyuubi chakra made them very powerful thou.

And yes u are correct, clones are proportionally weak, hence the main reason others never use more then 1-2, couple clones at best. Not only clones are weaker, but user gets weaker as he creates them, so too many is counter productive.

Now u know. naruto skill and power is revolver around lots of BS.
