Follows the events of
As dawn broke and light came flooding into Konoha, Kakashi Hatake stood in front of the tombstone of Sakumo Hatake, The White Fang. As he placed the broken shards of the White Light Chakra Sabre at the foot of the grave, he whispered, "I'm sorry Dad."
Minato was standing in front of the academy when Kakashi met up with him. Together they went to the Hokage's office in the adminastrative section of the academy. The openning of the door revealed several figures; most notably Danzo, the Third Hokage and Fugaku Uchiha, the leader of the uchiha clan.
Hiruzen asked Minato and Kakashi to retell the events that had occured since they had left for the mission. After they were done speaking there was a long silence. Hiruzen said, "It's so sad how many lives war takes."
Fugaku seized the chance to speak. "It is especially sad that an Uchiha fell so soon after activating his sharingan. It will be hard to tell Obito's parents." Minato said quietly, "It's my duty as their sensei to tell both Rin and Obito's parents what happened."
Fugaku replied, "As the leader of the Uchiha clan it is my responsibility to care for my clan. I will tell them. We have a bigger issue that needs to be dealt with."
Kakashi asked, "What is the issue." Having been quiet up until now, Danzo spoke, "You are the problem. The Uchiha clan has an issue with the fact that a shinobi outside of the clan bears the sharingan."
Fugaku explained, "Danzo is right, it is not proper for a shinobi to possess the sharingan who is outside of the clan. How would we look compared to the Hyuga who go to such lengths to protect their dojutsu? You need to surrender your sharingan."
In response Kakashi said, "But Obito gave it to me. You can't take it from me. He said 'I don't care what the village thinks.'" Minato said bitterly, "According to Fugaku, it was not his to give."
Fugaku agreed, "That's right, Obito had a duty to the Uchiha clan and he could not just hand you his dojutsu. You need to give it back." Minato responded with anger, "I am not going to let you do this you know."
The Third Hokage having been quiet for a while spoke up, "We cannot become divided in this time of war. Fugaku, while you cannot just take away a gift, there is some merit to what you are saying. The only compromise that you will agree to is holding a battle between an Uchiha and Kakashi to determine who is more worthy to posses the sharingan."
Minato said, "Lord Hokage, Kakashi was given the sharingan as his friends diing wish, you can't be serious?"
Kakashi spoke slowly and before anyone else, "Minato sensei, stop. If it is ok with him (Kakashi pointed at Fugaku) I will take part in this battle and prove that Obito believed I should have this eye."
Fugaku bregrudgingly said, "I agree to those terms."
Hiruzen said, " Very well, this meeting is over, tomorrow at noon Kakashi Hatake will battle a member of the Uchiha clan."
