i think it's because the sage chakra is highly concentrated in the spiraling chakra sphere (and its uzumaki/kurama + sage chakra power boosted)

but it is pretty interesting how hashirama's seal didn't work well on obito

Obito used physical strength amplified by the Juubi. The Gates tech was made to restrain, not damage. Also, having Senpō attacks does not guarantee much against Obito anyway.
