Senju and Uzumaki

If Uzumaki has long life span, why did Tobi use Hashirama Senju's DNA to live longer? Cuz Hashirama isn't Uzumaki :shrug:

I think it was so he could make Zetsu and to be able to use Izanagi.

He went after his jeans (pun intended) because he had renowned abilities of which one of those was his incredible stamina and ability to use mokuton.

The added benefit was he could now use Izanagi and in theory, the Rinnegan(don't know if he knew about that though).

You don't have to be an Uzumaki to have long life. The DNA of certain ninja's contain the ability to extend the lifespan of another ninja. I believe none of Orochimaru's experiment's were Uzumaki's but they granted him the ability to extend his lifespan
