[Question] Sengoku vs Akainu

Rayleigh is also just as old, yet in his fight with Kizaru he didnt seem to think he lacked his strength, h only commented on how it had been a while since he used his sword. Yet he still fought on par with Kizaru. I dont think them being in their 70's gretaly effected their strength at all. Garp is still hurling cannonballs at people, and whitebeard was still the strongest person at Marineford (despite him being sick) aside from garp and sengoku.

" Indicating that he would have beat the living hell out of Kizaru and helped SH's if he was younger.

If you think Prime Grap = Old Garp and Prime WB = Old WB then you need to improve your common sense.

heh I actually think Akainu is above prime Sengoku

EoS Akainu should be above prime Sengoku, he needs to be as one of the main villains of the series, though right now I think he can be as strong as Sengoku, maybe...

why Sengoku persé? If anything he should aim to surpass prime garp . (although that is basically PK power)
Al so u think Akainu is still getting stronger as we speak? Age will not help him u know.

That's also true, but I don't think that it is something we should ignore. When Roger was around, Whitebeard was in his 50s and was said to be in his prime. Therefore it's entirely conceivable that Akainu could be in his prime right now.

Being at your peak during your 50's is totally possible going by OP standards. A lot of people in OP got weaker during their 70's.So,going by that flow Akainu can only get weaker with age at this point.

Prime in OP in most cases = 30-55/ 60.

Well I dont think that sounds too absurd, Sengoku was praised mostly as a tactician and a war genius, im not saying he wasnt strong because he was admiral but he never got the hype Garp had, for being able to corner the PK many times and crushing pirates dreams i.e Chinjao, Akainu was the main figure of marines during the war, Sengoku was just a tactician while Akainu went toe to toe with the WSM.

Sorry, didnt remember that!! And im not saying that they didnt lose some strength from their youth. I just dont think they experienced a great strength deficiency because of their age. Rayleigh was able to hold off a admiral and still wanted to do more, which in some ways was embarrassing to kizaru (as he stated)

Garp was able to pumble Marco to the ground and leave a bruise on his face, while the latter was in pheonix form, and marco is still younger than garp.

Sengoku was able to punish the BB crew, though they were younger.

All im saying is that, I dont believ they have lost alot of strength from their prime due to their age, but I could be wrong.

I was just joking, since the topic of this thread was who was stronger between the 2. I somewhat agree, akainu did just take his title, and like you said, Sengoku doesnt have the legendary status as Garp, Roger, Shiki, Whitebeard, or the other pirates of his era, so its fair to say that if akainu is to become one of the main antagonist that he be stronger than the previous fleet admiral.

Plus the ONLY reason Sengoku had the position of Fleet Admiral is because Garp turned it down. He was only the next in line.

Akainu would win mid-high difficulty against old Sengoku. Against Prime Sengoku, i still see him winning, albeit extreme difficulty

Being able to fight strong people at old age won't prove that they didn't lose most of their strength. It means that they are still monsters despite of losing their strength. But,I can see where you are coming from.

Rayleigh's words suggests that he would have beat Kizaru and helped SH's if he was younger means that dealing with an admiral isn't a big deal for Prime Rayleigh but Old Rayleigh stalemated against Kizaru which is why I said that they lost their strength because of age.
