Why do you call it "Selfishness"? She did what she did in order to bring peace to Narutoverse. beside that you need to be POWERFUL inorder to bring "PEACE".

So what times has there been true "peace" in Narutoverse.
1) During SO6P's mom
2) During SO6P himself after defeating the juubi
3) Hashirama when he created the village system

as you can see, all the times that "peace" was archiven, it was because somebody with "Godlike" power did appear, and put an end to endless bullshit.

Did really understand where you were going with this, but somehow it makes my theory that infinite tsukyomi was the plan from the start. Connect everyone one with chakra coming from one connecting the others. We saw it when naruto shared the 9tails chakra. She stop the war by hitting everyone with a mass genjutsu, how else would you stop an entire war singlehandly.

The point of this thread is simple but deep at same time.

The concept of selfishness point towards the concept of free will vs forced will.

Peace can be reached by free will or imposition. Kaguya's way was reaching peace using power, she imposed her wish to force peace using chakra.

There are people who wants peace at any cost, they would gladly agreed with Kaguya. But there are others that wants to reach peace by their own means (Naruto), or people who don't want peace (villains in general).

As this was the wish of one woman with huge power, and she had the power (but not the authority) to reach peace... then the concept of selfishness in this thread makes sense.

But as others said, you need a conclusion.

At its very most basic, Greed is the driving force behind all human nature; even love. I feel greedy on the behalf of my family, a parent feels greedy on the behalf of their children, they have wants for them on their behalf. Greed as a word has been corrupted in its meaning, wanting something is the same as feeling greed but we do not assign the same connotations as we do for the former word. Ultimately it means we WANT something and Kaguya wanted peace.

This warrior queen Kaguya loved her people and she loved peace. She WANTED it for her people and for human kind in general. This is a very fundamental type of emotion, she felt greed for other people on their behalf, she wanted the best for them. This is the very most basic core of altruism.

She felt motivated to do something about it, she had the arrogance to believe she knew better that her foresight was clear. She ENVIED the shinju! Yes she envied the Shinju's peace! So she took it with both hands for all human kind. It was Greed.

Remember Greed is not bad, it never was and never will be that is unless we let IT control US rather than us using it as a tool to motivate ourselves. There was nothing wrong with her actions at all, she was simply being...Human.

Remember the Shinju stayed out of human wars, it had peace and humans had none. So she took it. Why the Shinju allowed this before coming after her later I have no idea.

I liked this thread, it was a little over the place but i get what your saying and think you have a great theory here! She did do a selfish/selfless act...but as philosophy teaches us, morals are dependent upon an individuals given opinion on morals. In her mind she did a good thing, but she did teach peace through power in a sense. It sounds messed up, but it is true..and this kinda relates back to the Pein stuff too and his ideals. The jyubi might actually change its own mind and do things its own way if Madara gets too egotistical and stuff. There are quiet a few directions Kishi could go with this.
