Madara wasn't even trying he was enjoying Gai's power.
Madara had no choice but to enjoy might guys power, afterall he's the only one powerful enough to force might guy to use all 8 gates and push himself further for 1 more attack which was even greater than the 8th gate attacks,not just that but it also kind of looked like madara was also scared or even terrified of might guy's monsterous MIGHT! and that fear made him enjoy himself even more cause it gave him a thrill like when he fought against hashirama and that's the thing that makes madara crazy cause if anyone else fought against might guy they would wanna run/surrender after seeing him activate the 3rd,4th or 5th gate but madara wanted more,he wanted might guy to activate the 8th gate and even when might guy had no choice but to activate the 8th gate(gate of death) madara kept asking for more,not just that but thinking about it that night guy may as well have been a 9th gate cause in the night guy state might guy looked like the incredible hulk,also when you think about it might guy saw madara as THE perfect opponent to use all 8 gates against plus push for 1 more attack and in a way even though it didn't seem like it but I get the feeling that deep down might guy just like madara enjoyed the battle and if he had the chance to I reckon he would have thanked madara for being the perfect opponent cause he's the 1st person he's gone all out and beyond against and when madara asked for more might guy kept on giving.
P.S soooooooooo I've now declared the might guy vs six paths madara battle THE BEST and the MOST EPIC battle ever and the madara vs hashirama battle comes 2nd.
