It's really disappointing that you can't appreciate just how truly incredible Kabuto has become. The pure agony h was going through. That "nerd" was immitating Orochimaru because he didn't know what else to do. Orochimaru was the dominant figure in his life and he saw himself as Orochimaru's servant. When he was gone, Kabuto spiraled deeper into insanity.
He went on a quest to gain power and form some sort of identity. And he found power, at least. He gained Sage Mode, cornered the Uchiha brothers, and was dragging Akatsuki by the nose in the 4th World War. Yet for all his power, he was still just a confused person who couldn't fill the deep loneliness in his heart.
His dialogue in his battle went from
"From human to snake, from snake to dragon. I am the closest thing in this world to the Sage of Six Paths!! Compared to me... The Uchiha are nothing!"
to
"It seems a genius who had everything could never understand. I just want to make me into myself. And no one will get in my way."
to
"A mistake...? Where did I make a mistake...? I just wanted someone to notice me. I just wanted someone... To love me!! How is that a mistake?!"
Kabuto Yakushi was deprived of something we all get as children, love and attention. A home.
And now, thanks to Izanami, his character's journey is almost complete. He's become disillusioned with Orochimaru and realized that he's been being used for most of his life. Now, he just needs to return home, and he'll be complete.
And if you of all people cannot se the beauty of Kabuto's character, then I do not know what else to say.
You trolled the goddamn f*ck outta me. Bravo!
