I used fibre-tip pens:

About the how-to: First I made the contour of the squirrel. Then I decided where the shading would go. LAter I chose one base color -depending of the area, diff base color for hat, fur and gabardine- and a set for shades plus a lighter one. Made lots of points and hoped the squirrel would still look like one after erasing the lines xd
