He obviously learned it from watching the 2nd Hokage use, as sasuke seemed to have done in the last chapter (I see encounter between te two). The reason the 2nd Hokage didn't release himself as stated above, he was completely controlled by Orochimaru, as he should have been since he most likely would have released himself from Oro's control.

Btw Kabuto wasn't stupid at all for using since Madara seems to still be against the Kages. This only would have been an issue if the given was a good guy, Madara is still the same power hungry douche.

Also, this has shown that Oro's use of Edo was planned according to the Hokage's, Kabuto had nothing to worry about. IMO to see them both having to really perfect this jutsu.

It seems he is attempting to release Edo Tensei which makes no sense. By looking at it it almost seems he is summoning something.

I think by saying release he is trying to cut off the edo contract with Kabuto, which wld make him independent of the caster. Thats why he said the caster to be careful as the edo can not always be controlled as they may get out of their hands. Edo tensei is a derivation of summoning jutsu after all, i think it like the beast after being summoned breaks contract with the summoner so that he can roam free in this world.

because the 2nd Hokage would have released Orochimaru's contract on him and protected Konoha.

oro wiped his mind before he could since it seems the weak point can only be exploited when its about to be released by the user

he says that releasing the edo tensei summoning contract is the most troublesome thing to do

i think he is making the same sequence of seals itachi forced kabuto to do to release edo tensei.

Now that you guys say this... It makes me think... Is he possibly releasing himself from the restraints of the edo-tensei so he can linger an immortal forever?

I mean he wouldn't be sending himself back now would he? He might as well have just gone when Itachi released it! Only reason I can see him doing this is to go back to his original plan and being revived as flesh and blood.

To me.. the first one seems more likely! :shrug:

Well it is VERY possible that Madara saw Tobirama use the seal, the question becomes when was the jutsu created that Madara was able to learn about it.
