Close ur browser and open it again, there might be a problem with ur browser data, clearing history will work and show the emoticon image properly.. Its ur browser not the emoticon..

Okay so do this Tools > Clear Recent History.. > Time Range To Clear: Everything & Check all the boxes except "Saved Passwords" > Apply..
and then reload everything.
