Apparently there is a super volcano in antartica and it is causing a massice loss of ice in the region
Quite interesting indeed and its as big as the dreaded yellowstone super volcano

It may or may not blow up but it is interesting and does explain quite a bit of why the south pole is melting

Global warming is a part of it but this helps solve part of why there are lakes under antartica when there shouldnt be
