What if Sasuke never got the Curse Mark from Orochimaru and never left the village. Instead of staying with Team 7 he joins ANBU as a means to get stronger and have a chance at fighting Itachi. How would the plot have unfolded if this was the case.

Lol I'm burning under your wrath. Ok. I would think Sasuke without the whole oro thing would be more like revolutionist sasuke. Working his way up the ranks to seize power and change things In Konoha or kick people like Danzo out of power. Not that he would know much about what went on really.

His fight with Itachi would probably have happened much later down the line. Sasuke would have had more killing experience with the Anbu but still would rely on the elements going his way for a win.
