Judging off of feats and how the current meta is in both boruto and naruto series. It appears to me that Boruto series has literally scaled up atleast 1-2 tiers in comparison to Naruto series.

For Example:

Genin in Boruto would equal a Chuunin / Jounin in Naruto
Chuunin in Boruto would equal a jounin / special jounin in Naruto
Jounin in Boruto would equal a Special jounin / high jounin in Naruto
Jounin+ in Boruto would equal low Kage / Kage in Naruto

This is just my observation based on feats i've seen in the series. It seems like the older generations are much weaker in comparison to the newer generation.

Also to Clarify im speaking in regards to new characters being portrayed not old characters as it seems the older characters have all taken a step back.

Thoughts?

Academy Student equal a Genin, you forgot that.

And there's an anomaly, Mitsuki is equal to a Chuunin, Jonin at best.
That's if you exclude his Sage Mode, from the manga we know that he already has it. That would put him high Jonin.

Jounin+ in Boruto would equal low Kage / Kage in Naruto
except some of Genin from Naruto
naruto vs gaara
Genin gaara/naruto/sasuke was Jounin+

to gaara jounin was fodder

bold nope
Naruto kage >boruto kage (excluding naruto/gaara)

even if u only counted main characters then naruro>boruto

+ u should give us some name who do u think stronger then whom

Special Jounin are Chunin with jounin-like skills in one area, so are actually below Jounin in rank.

Having said that, I think this whole idea arises from differences in how the two stories proceeded until the chunin exam.

Main Characters
> Naruto was a dropout as a kid, and nobody really taught him anything. Boruto is a genius to begin with, and is homeschooled, and trained even before his academy years. Boruto is better, obviously.

> Sasuke is a genius, who didn't have any tutors, but had excellent skills in Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and had plenty of feats to back it up even early on. Sarada has a dedicated (as yet unidentified) tutor, and has good shurikenjutsu, and more recently, some doujutsu feats. Sasuke is better, by a long stretch, age by age.

Side Characters
> In Naruto, the skills of side characters weren't explored until the Chunin Selection Exam.
> In Boruto, the skills of side characters has been explored since day 1.
> I don't think it's fair to say that Boruto's classmates are more talented than Naruto's. We must also consider that parents in this generation are much more better-placed to teach their kids (even though some of them choose to send them for tuition instead)

> There were no prominent Chunins whose skills were shown until Part 2. People like Kimimaro and Haku were roughly chunin-level, and can hold their own against current gen chunins just fine.

> Naruto's Jounins included Maito Gai, Kakashi, Zabuza, and the like.
> Boruto's Jounins are Team Ebisu, et al, including the one who was beaten so fast, Konohamaru didn't know what happened until it was too late, despite literally being a few feet away (Boruto 17)
> I'm not saying Konohamaru is not skilled (we don't know how skilled he is yet, so let's wait till the fight), but based solely on what we know now, the old jounins were just as skilled, if not better, than the current gen.

> Kages is not even an argument, as the current gen, except Naruto, easily gets outclassed by the old gens.

Finally, we can't compare ninja of ranks we associate with them (like Kage-level, Jounin+, etc. that aren't official ranks), and say that current gen are stronger, because we assign those ranks based on how strong a set of ninja are. If they aren't as good, that simply means they aren't "Jounin+" level.
