Sawyer is awful, classic case of an unfunny person trying to be funny. Every week he tries to use the "cooler than" approach to his reviews and it comes off so phony. You can't be cooler than the material if you care enough to want and put your opinion out on it every week. Crying Talk-no-Jutsu is beyond hack at this point, but being inept on many levels he misses that fact. So we are consistently treated to his "Talk-no-Jutsu humor", which he feels puts him in an elite minority of fans who are so with it they can always point out this "flaw" in the manga.
Sawyer is an obviously bright guy, but he proves intelligence is never all-encompassing. He has carved out an interesting niche for himself as the perceived intelligent reviewer, but when rivaled by Fornever this is no daunting task. You have the blind Kishi supporters who defend him at every turn no matter what, then you have "fans" like Sawyer who are obviously addicted to the material but will detract at every turn. Both sides of the fandom, which make up the odd near enigmatic following of "Naruto".
Sawyer proves that people will perceive anything as intelligent if it's presented to them in a foreign way, his surface level analysis of the chapters are anything but impressive. He gives no special insight into the material, nor does he offer up an ascended level of wit. Sawyer isn't funny or above the material, and when you act like something you're not you become a douche. The douche chills I received from his latest review are comparable to when I hear Justin Bieber do his black voice. What's great though, I prefer him to any other reviewer out there.
