again the word doesn't indicate a single direction.

I already gave examples of the word "glance" covering an entire area.

You gave one and they were still in one general area. A menu is still in front of you in one direction and the same can be said for your others. To glance over something that covers multiple directions would no longer be a glance because you have to direct your gaze on different areas.

Sasuke glanced but that doesn't mean he looked the Bijuus in their eye. Eye contact is when to eyes meet one another, if Sasuke just glances at the Bijuus, he's casting genjutsus with his eyes just by looking at his victims, that's still a pretty good feat IMO. He did pretty quickly, even the Sage was surprised.

Lel nope. I just don't understand the excitement about that Sasuke's feat.

People were laughing at both Sasuke and his fanbase becoz of him not doing good against Kaguya and telling them Sasuke's time to shine will nvr come

Inanimated;17115689]Ignorance? You're suggesting that all the bijuu were placed under genjutsu... How?

Even Itachi couldn't cast eye genjutsu without his eyes.

So then now explain to me how Sasuke cast eye genjutsu on bijuu he wasn't looking at. Besides spinning of course

I lol'd at this because Hagoromo confirmed that Sasuke glanced at them.

yes thats exactly what the manga showed.

lol that is itachi, not sasuke. comparing ms with the tomoed rinnegan is extremely flawed.not to mention sasuke possess hagoromos chakra, sorry he is another level to itachi all things including ocular prowess. sasuke catching all of them at the same time should tell have made you think twice about that comparison.

he said sasuke did with only a glance meaning he only looked once, the a is key. 360 is not a glance as that would require sasuke turning his body, that would mean sasuke glanced around severally and severally is not once. you guys argument would have been better if all the bijjus were in front of sasuke but they were clearly shown to be around him, some at his side and back. hagoromos statement doesnt help that argument not one bit so i dont see why its been refrenced.

Are the bijuu not in one general area? They're surrounding him. 1 area.
It can't be said since I used sasuke's current situation.
Why not at bold?

sorry, by one area i mean one direction

glance 1 (glns)
v. glanced, glanc·ing, glanc·es
v.intr.
1.
a. To direct the gaze briefly: glance at the menu; glanced in the rearview mirror.

@bold, because to glance means to direct ones gaze. To direct means you r pointing your eyes in a direction. A makes glance singular, therefore

a glance mean a gaze directed in one location/ direction

@ 1st Paragraph, it was a comparison between the best genjutsu user the series has seen and Sasuke. What I meant is, that Sasuke can't cast eye genjutsu without looking at his victim. Why not? Simply because it wouldn't be eye genjutsu. Just like Sasuke can't teleport without his eye making contact with what he wants to teleport to. Shown when he was trapped inside Kaguya's dimension. Your argument that Sasuke could cast visual genjutsu on the tailed beast without looking at them, is equivalent to me insinuating Kakashi could cast Kamui with his forehead protector covering his eye. Even if it is the sharinnegan, it still requires eye contact, proven with the teleportation technique.

@2nd Paragraph, are you saying you can't turn your head and glance out the window? You can't spin around in your chair and glance at the person next to you in class?

Idk who said it but they brought up a good point. Sasuke didn't have to spin because the Bijuu were physically towering over them. All it would have taken was a simple roll of the head.

actually, Sasuke has teleported without making eye contact. Once while evading Madara's lightning, another when he switched places with his sword and was looking only at Madara, and another when he teleported Madara in front of them while only looking at Naruto. So that part of your post is wrong.

this is another thing. glance doesnt equate to eye contact. if you read the scan well hagoromo first says sasuke has them under his spell then in his inner thoughts he then says "but it was only a glance" that but is key. it implies that he feels sasuke shouldnt be able to catch all them just from a glance but he did it.

Again. A glance isn't limited to 1 direction it doesn't say that anywhere in the definition. It means to look briefly. a dosent make it singular either. Can't stress this emough.

Try using a in a plural sense
A/an is only used when an object is singular or a collective noun

Oh true, I thought they were much closer. Like I said, someone else said that. I was just agreeing. :shy:

Even if he did spin it means he was able to move his body all around thus spinning and kishi didn't show any effect like 'swish' or anything and he was able to make eye contact with every tailed beast in just one movement and then was standing their straight in the next panel
cool i guess

Assumption at bold. We can tell based on Harogomo's Statement.

And you saying that he did spin around isn't an assumption at all, right?
Also,I don't see where Hagoromo's statement indicates that Sasuke must have spun to cast the genjutsu.

Looks like a Minato fan soloed the thread. Yes, it needs eye contact.

from what the manga clearly showed and this thread i have no reason to believe he made eye contact with all the beasts even those at his back at the same time from a glance, or do you mean he only looked at them without looking at their eyes? because that will be even better.

Just like Sasuke can't teleport without his eye making contact with what he wants to teleport to. Shown when he was trapped inside Kaguya's dimension. look at the scans properly, dont make it seem like am making a baseless assertion out of nowhere. he was preparing his genjutsu, then kurama tried attacking him, next thing in the same page, all beasts were under his illusion, nothing and i repeat nothing from there even shows that sasuke turned around but it could be as he caught one it transferred because he is clearly facing straight while activating the genjutsu and next thing all of them are caught even those that were clearly at his back. then sage said he did with just a glance, i dunno it just seems logical

@2nd Paragraph, are you saying you can't turn your head and glance out the window? You can't spin around in your chair and glance at the person next to you in class?
you cant glance all the way from side to back, then its no longer a glance because your focus is many directions especially not how it appeared in the manga. from the way the sage said it and from what manga shown, sasuke simply looked and all of them were under his genjutsu, its very simple. why would sasuke do a quick 360 and yet it wont be shown? you are also not taking the fact that they were all caught at once, the process wasnt gradual which would help your case but it was simultaneous, he cant have fully concentrated on all at once at the same time and have it be called just a glance, thats illogical.

Idk who said it but they brought up a good point. Sasuke didn't have to spin because the Bijuu were physically towering over them. All it would have taken was a simple roll of the head.
thats it, towering above would mean sasuke would have to bend his head upwards a bit in quick fashion and that is not a glance.
