Sasuke's susanoo always had a sword,he used it to cut those pillars in the kage summit. He just likes using arrows more. He can also use his enton to make an am sword

Why is Sasuke's susanoo holding a sword?

Because that is what his EMS gave him.

Hmm I'm not so sure that was amaterasu in the top left. We never saw sasuke's original susanoo use it in battle, and he used susanoo plenty of times! I would assume that his PS has new abilities like shown in the manga!!

Why is Sasuke's susanoo holding a sword?

Actually, EMS turns his Susanoo's orb into Amaterasu. Pre-EMS they were just "ammunition" for the bow.

Its's not like you can't posses a different weapon with susanoo. madara had a sword and the Yasaka Magatama as well as itachi.
