As for Sasuke not learning about izanagi until Karin has to explain it to him.
If it wasn't for Karin Analyzing Izanagi Sasuke would have been confused in that battle.

A would died, whilst sasuke would've either low/mild injuries.
A had already sacrificed his arm to hurt sasuke. A came out worst in that confrontation and lost and arm, whilst he did minimum damage to sasuke. He was about to repeat this feat again which wouldve resulted in the same result. He would lose his leg this time, but again wouldve done sasuke minimum damage. No different to the first time.

Now imagine 1 legged A. Balancing alone would be extremely hard. He wouldnt be able balance on 1 leg whilst moving in his v2 raiton because he wouldnt be able to balance on 1 leg with such great speed.

Basically once he has lost his leg, he has also lost his speed and without speed, the next amaterasu sasuke aims at him would kill him.


Also sasuke had already figured out how izanagi works and tbh it gets me annoyed when people keep saying karin informed him. Link me pages were karin was informing sasuke about izanagi. All she did was think in her head and analyse the jutsu. She never spoke of the technique to sasuke and the only time she did say something was here;

But that clearly hints that sasuke already knew what he was doing from the beginning and has already figured it out. In fact was karin's advice was wrong as stated by tobi.

Already figured it out and come up with two stategies. One was to rush him into using izanagi and thats why he spammed ms jutsu's. The second was the genjutsu which fooled danzo;

Well, considering he owns a Sword of Kusanagi, he might be able to Chanel it into Susano... It's probably the way Itachi did it with his own Sword... U_U
