The reason why Sasuke awakened the Tomoe rinnegan in one eye is because he has a devolved rinnesharingan aka a perfect rinnegan . Just like how kaguya and Madara awakened only one rinnesharingan instead of thier two eyes transformed into the rinnesharingan is because it's a kekei Moira( w\e how it's spelled) and it has S/T techniques , reppelling IT , and switching through space in fractions of a seconds , just like kaguya.With the help of sasukes chakra+ indra chakra+hagaromos yin chakra he can achieve this eye. (And its purple because it has more rinnegan prowess than the actual rinnesharingan that you have to be the JJ to achieve)

Rinnesharingan has 9tomoe not 6.. NO?.. It's purple because it's a water down version of the Rinnesharingan an closer to Hogoromo not Kaguya cause she never had a Rinne. Hogo/Madara's Rinne is a mutation of the RS. Sasuke's is no different in that sense because his Rinne is a mutation as well.
His 6tomoe Rinne is a Rinnegan mutation with the ability to enhance his sharingan 10 fold 100 fold whatever.. But it also has it's drawbacks like cool down time which the original mutated Rinne does not after ever use.

All in all he calls it a Rinnegan as did Madara as did Hatake Obito & Naruto.. I think even Hogo call it a Rinne so I'll stick with 6TRinne rather than the Rinnesharingan!
