I do agree with the fact that the elders have to die. I never liked them from the beginning.
I disagree with why Itachi killed the Uchiha. If he didn't kill them, he wouldn't have sided with them to attack Konoha. Itachi wanted peace, so if they attacked he wouldn't be fighting with the Uchiha. He had to choose between his family, or peace for a whole entire village. Innocent people would have died, gotten injured, and etc.
And if the Uchiha were excluded, they were either excluded because they chose that way or because of Madara Uchiha. Madara was the only Uchiha, I think, that decided to go against Konoha. So maybe the others decided to exclude themselves from the village after that.
Not to mention with all the Shinobi in that village it would have caused a lot of trouble. You can't underestimate all the ninja clans that existed back in. There are the ninja would weren't even in a clan too.
