Hello, Narutobase. I would like to drop a prediction for your entertainment and judgment. I believe Itachi and Sasuke will meet Kabuto together. Sasuke will face Kabuto's "that jutsu" and Itachi will face Uchiha Madara.
It is the latter fight that will ultimately begin to sway Sasuke away from the Curse of Hatred. Don't get me wrong, he will undoubtedly fight Naruto for one reason or another, but this will be his first step towards redemption.
However: Uchiha Madara, with the godlike power of Senju and Uchiha combined into a Vegito-esque fusion, would crush a simple Mangekyō user, albeit an incredibly skillful and intelligent Mangekyō user with legendary items.
I suspect the Yata Mirror will be shattered, and that Itachi will legitimately be dominated and trash-talked by Madara most of the fight. However, there is a very distinct and defining characteristic of Itachi that Madara lacks.
The will of fire. That is, Itachi is everything Madara could have been. When push comes to shove, Madara will be beaten by a bloodied Itachi, because Itachi has the superior ideology. They are foils of one another. "The elder brothers."
If you recall, Madara willfully sacrificed his younger brother for his own sake. He then attacked Konoha in the name of the Uchiha. In contrast, Itachi willfully sacrificed his own life for his little brother's sake. He also attacked the Uchiha in the name of Konoha.
Which brings me to the point of all this. Did Madara's younger brother die when he had his Mangekyō eyes plucked from his head? Of course not. No, he wandered around blind, envying and idolizing Madara's power and vision. He would even impersonate his brother in time.
Throughout all of this, Izuna believed that power was rightfully his to use. Even when Nagato died with Madara's eyes in his sockets - even then, Uchiha Izuna believed those were his eyes by birthright, his to begin with, and that he was just taking them back.
Itachi and Madara will soon exit the story, leaving only their younger brothers to decide the final path of the Uchiha. Sasuke will slowly begin to emulate Itachi's [Senju-esque] will of fire, and Izuna will pursue Madara's [Uchiha-esque] quest for power and godhood.
