If things were to go back to normal after the war, Sasuke joining the Leaf and all, I'ts obvious he will have some form of punishment. Most likely not death. It probably wont even be that severe seeing as he never killed anyone (except Danzo who no-one gave a damn about). But I don't think the Raikage will accept that, i'm thinking he's going to want some retribution...

Btw,I don't recall someone getting punished in Naruto...If it were like Aizen's punishment,fine,but that moment was quite interesting and made us think that he will return later..

He won't be punished. Sasuke is helping save the world, and was a key figure in the defeat of Obito and will obviously play a part in Madara's defeat. That will make up for the past sins. People also forget that all Sasuke did was breaking and entering at the Kage Summit. He just wanted Danzo, the Samurai and other Kage attacked him first.

Not only that, but ninja murder all the time. Sasuke never did what any of the other ninja villages haven't done, Konoha has killed, Kumo has kidnapped(A has even compared kidnapping Bee the incident of when Kumo tried to kidnap Hinata), Kirigakura had their children slaughter each other, Suna attempted to destroy Konoha with Otogakure, and Iwagakure used organizations like and including Akatsuki. They forgave each other for that because they helped each other in the war, so they can forgive Sasuke.

Even Gaara, a mass-murderer and one who helped in the attempted destruction of Konoha, was forgiven just for trying hard to be. Sasuke definitely won't be punished.

He'll probably be pardoned, heck that's almost a certainty but realistically he should be shunned by the world, whereas Naruto will be seen as a hero to the world.

He attacked the Kage Summit, whether he was only after Danzo or not is irrelevant, there's no way this event didn't get out to the public of the five nations. Also, the main causes for this war [Obito and Madara] being Uchihas, and assuming Sasuke is the last Uchiha at the end of it all isn't exactly helping peoples image of him.

Kakashi said something early on, that those that follow the path of revenge, it never ends well. I don't think he'll die but I do think he's not even going to be able to live a normal life again. Honestly, now that he no longer wants to attack the village, he should just stay away from it. Go try and live a life somewhere else.

Since the NV is going through reforms currently and Sasuke is meant to be front line character, in the new world his record will most probably be clean...

Despite many things many of Konoha has forgave him and if other villages dare to stand against against him, they are welcome to invade Konoha and take their right...

I don't see why hed be punished at all, He's done far more good than bad and I personally don't even see attacking Bee and the Summit as bad things, They weren't allied with Konoha at the time and the Villages have done far worse in the past and forgiven each other, hell they started 3 wars, why not forgive Sasuke?

Also Tsunade the Hokage of Konoha had no problem him returning.
