You could also apply this logic to explain the missing tail as well. Each tail of the bijuu avatar has a line running down the tail, yet in the pic there is only six present. Does that mean kurama only has 6 tails currently? Either their folded under one another or due to the height kishi isn't putting all the detail into them (to emphasis the height). If kurama had lost a tail kishi would illustrate that. It's kinda important for the author to illustrate the fight. Just sayin.

No their are definitely 8 tails showing but why would Sasukes sword break and not show it? You can see the sword but it looks smaller so what? A tail is missing completely.

why people cant understand that BSM is mix of kurama's, naruto's, sage's chakras and nature energy. Real kurama is far weaker, its just it's own chakra, it would be chopped just like hachibi does.
