As I stated on the Naruto version of this thread, I made a thread discussing Sasuke's progression and overall Character Development. Do you think it's been good or has Kishi rushed things with him a little?

sasuke has randomly been switching sides for almost no reason whatsoever, I've read fanfictions with better character development.

As much as i like Sasuke, i dislike his habit of switching sides. This time he seems to be on the good side but with a few dark intentions but still it doesn't change the fact that he went from Good to Neutral to Evil then back to Good.:(

It's good thing that Sasuke isn't one dimensional character any longer.

Sasuke's action and emotions are by far the closest thing from a fictional character to a human actions and emotions.....his actions on taking revenge against Itachi for what he did to his family and his Clan is a perfect example.....only a naive person would think two kids you met in a academy and was teammates with only 1 month would stop a hatred and revenge you planned since you were 7 years old(which is 6 years in the making)

His plan to create a new system and put an end to the current twisted system is also another example....Sasuke is neither good or evil...he's one of the most complex characters in the Narutoverse alone side with characters just as Danzo and Obito.....most people who read or watch Naruto don't understand Sasuke,Danzo, and Obito's character because they're still kids who have yet to understand hatred, wars, and reality.

I love Sasuke's character, but I hate the way he was manipulated by Obito into wanting to destroy Konoha.

Now that he's back, I hope it stays this way.

As for his characters actual development, there are a few flaws, but nothing that alters my opinion of him.

He jumps back and forth too much, its gotten to the point where he comes off as a puppet for others to toy with.

I think it was absolutely ridiculous that he didn't side with the leaf after Itachi's death.

Sasuke is what got me into Naruto but his character development has been problematic to say the least. It feels like Kishi wanted him to become FV but for some reason couldn't make him completely evil. Taka Sasuke should not have happend if he wasn't going to be FV in my opinion.

Sasuke amuses me greatly.

But seriously, I think he's believable enough, but it's hard to say because we don't see a lot of his thought processes. Not everyone in the world is rational or mentally well-balanced, and not everyone ends up making the "right" decision in the end. Most people are not the self-sacrificing, I-care-about-others-more-than-myself heroes that the Narutoverse is full of. It's true that in Naruto, everyone and their mother has a tragic backstory, but honestly, how many people in their situations would really come out of it all unscathed? At the very least you're talking a lot of depression, anxiety and warped worldviews.

Sasuke is by far the best character in Naruto.

Everyone think his sudden change was random. Sasuke said several times, he had no intentions on helping the Akatsuki. Sasuke was under the impression that Itachi was forced by the village to do this. Obito told him his version of the story. Then Danzo didn't say too much. That's why he tried to talk to Danzo for a small second before killing him. He had no proof whatsoever on what Itachi's true feelings was. He was just pissed off. He even said, "I'm pissed off".

After teaming up with Itachi, he realized that Itachi not only accepted this choice, but had no regrets about the choice he made.

So before blindly destroying the village. He decided to understand why his brother would go so far for the village. And then realized the Ninja system is f'ed up.
