Actually if you check it clearly says that Kishi always intended for Sasuke to WANT to become Hokage. He never said he would succeed.

And that is of course assuming this is a real interview, I have lost track of how many fake interviews have been posted.

How has Sasuke showed his power more than any other character in the war? Quite frankly, I think people are really overhyping what Sasuke has done. Itachi did most of the work against Kabuto. The juubi, Obito and Madara all brushed off Sasuke's amaterasu flames with ease. Sasuke's susanoo would have been negated if it weren't for Naruto and Juugo's senjutsu. The chakara from the bijuus that Naruto had was what allowed the bijuus to be pulled out of Obito and Naruto's senjutsu allowed Sasuke's sword to break the nunoboku sword. Gamakichi and Naruto were the ones who exposed Obito's weakness (not Sasuke). Minato saved the alliance twice (not Sasuke). Orochimaru was the one who revived the edo kages. Naruto, Bee, Gaara and the bijuus are the ones who have been fighting Madara. What has Sasuke accomplished? The only good thing that he has really done is revive Orochimaru. People give Sasuke the credit foe reviving the edo hokages because he revived Orochimaru and they call him a solo king, but the fact that he needed Orochimaru to do it means that he did depend on someone else.

I think you wen't too far into it, only to open a can of worms.
It's the way you see it that relapses the character, and let's be frank here, "he hasn't really helped against Madara" is bs. We found out what a jutsu like Amaterasu CAN'T do, and of course, there he is accelerating the exuberance of the alliance by making the first strike. You honestly can't try to call him off when at that moment, every one else had the idiot ball except for him.
And what is this "depending on" nonsense? He didn't give his dependencies on anyone and wouldn't have had they not risen to pitch in themselves. And here there were people b*tching and moaning about Sasuke never cooperating like a team. I sense a flaw in argument both ways, don't you?

Also, it's fun hailing your favorite character higher than what he actually is, don't you think?

He Isn't being "overhyped" in the same context as that term. He's being acknowledged by people who like him, and when you like something, you tend to expand your perceptions of it to fit it into something formidable. There Isn't anything wrong with it, take this from a Sasuke fan, lest they're using it in decrepit terms to go against someone who opposes their logistics.

Sasuke wasn't in the rescue Kazkage arc, and he was almost non existent in the Search for Tsunade arc, the Fourth Shinobi World War Arc, the Hiding the Jinchuriki arc, and in his own arc he was overshadowed by Jiraya's battle against Pain.
