sasuke's ninja path

Is it just me or sasuke's ninja way depends on what he encounters. First off, he wanted to follow the path of Itachi until his father told him not to and make his own path. after the uchiha massacre sasuke decides to become an avenger but some how forgot until oro reminded him. then now he is a full on avenger carrying the hate of his whole clan and striking it to the world. if sasuke just kept following his brother's footsteps do you think his path would've changed like him killing naruto at final valley or will it end up the same results.

I want to add something about Sasuke's mentality -- if you will. Remember when Itachi told..Naruto, I believe .. that Sasuke was pure and could easily be influenced? Well, there is/was part of the issue.

According to me sasuke is still naive and can be dyed in any color by anyone (stated by itachi)
but the thing is if he truly loved his brother he would have choosed to follow his bros footmarks and try to be like him becoz i dont see sasukes father gud at teaching things to his son becoz he himself was on the wrong path
