Just a quick prediction I'd like to throw into the fray: I think it's possible that Sasuke will kill off the majority of the Rookie 9 in the coming chapters. Hence the statement at the end of the chapter: Carnage is about to come to the battlefield.
It's unfortunate, but the way things have been going; I think that the Naruto series is going to come to an end within this year.

Addition to the prediction: I read through the chapter trying to find anything that might tell a bit about coming events... then I noticed on the final panel of Sasuke (page 17, left panel)... there's lightning... this sets up perfectly the mass slaughter I spoke of...
