There are 7 different types of intelligence. Shikamaru is more of a planned strategy fighter. Sasuke is more of an analytical and observant fighter. Naruto is more of improvisational fighter. All 3 are different types of skills in combat, and all work differently in combat situations. They're all very intelligent when it comes to combat and are all equals in their own ways. It's just all very situational.

I think shikamaru wouldn't really do well in sasuke's body. Sasuke is smart in a battle kind of way. Shikamaru needs time to think but comes up with the sickest plans. Sasuke thinks smartly but quickly and quickly makes up battle strategies on the fly.
