He is already planning to murder the five kage and his best friend, that is a recipe for a tyrant.

When Sasuke dies, hatred will not die with him since new hatred is born out of the continual cycle of existence, people will still find other things to hate long after he's dead, his death will kill all hatred focused on him but hatred itself will not be abolished, only continuous love can allay hate, love itself is a continuous cycle.

Ultimately what Sasuke is trying to do is a temporary and violent solution to a perpetual problem, you reap what you sow, sowing hatred will only lead to new hatred, nothing will change, only ruin and desolation is left on its track.
