Well, they pretty much thought they were going to fight but destiny is a funny thing. Whoever foresaw Zuko joining Aang to defeat his dad.....I always likened Sasuke to Zuko after he killed Itachi, I knew 1 day, their tag team will be back....

While somethings you say are true there's no rationalizing those 2 bold points.

No he wasn't persuaded it was his choice to join the Akatsuki he's not a 5 year old child who had no choice, he attempted to try catch Bee the Raikage's brother not some random civilian.

He was at the meeting to attack a kage at the time and was a missing nin at the time of course he was going to be attacked not to mention he killed samurai's that i'm sure Mifune is angry about.

People need to stop riding Sasuke thinking that because he chose not to attack the Leaf he can be brought back the fact he was thinking of attacking the leaf should be looked at itself, Sasuke is an international criminal not just a criminal in Konoha, chances are if he survives this war he'll be put in prison.

Of course unless Kishi pulls some lets all be friends bull crap where everyone forgives Sasuke straight away.

Facts: Sasuke joining Akatsuki was a marriage of circumstance, Tobi told him to join them so that they will give him more power because as he is, he cant take down Konoha. He attacked Bee, I didnt include that mistakenly, but at the end he didnt succeed, well that was bad of him but knowing Bee and how he forgave Motoi, Bee will forgive him instantly.
Sasuke wasnt in the kage meeting to attack the meeting. He was there to see and track Danzo and attack him after the meeting, Zetsu popped out and announced that Sasuke was there and the whole place was in an uproar. Sasuke had to fight and defend himself.

Even if he committed crimes, helping to defeat the world's greatest crime lord is gonna cleanse him of that, but Sasuke didnt commit much crimes

Yeah the similarity between Zuko and Sasuke is that their story has been about a hate filled boy, who lost "everything". Sasuke wanted revenge after revenge... Zuko wanted his honor and through his journey, discovered that honor is something to give yourself.

With Naruto, we've been sold the concept that Naruto and Sasuke will have a final showdown... something to outshine all their fights so far... and for what?! A friendly match and ramen afterwards? lol!

Imagine if the Fire Lord became friends with Aang and they had a friendly fight instead?! How cheated would you feel?

Fight first, friendship after!

My point is.... don't sell us something with promises of this and that and not deliver.... Avatar's story progressed in a totally different manner.

I agree with you completely. It really would be disappointing if the final fight turns out be a friendly fight.

Sasuke never said he wanted to be associated with konoha. He just said he wants to protect what his brother had built. I predict he'll quarrel with naruto after the war over some other matter and he won't be in the village at this time.

I don't think Sasuke will be hokage either (unless they decide its finally time for an Uchiha) but I see it happening before Naruto becomes hokage. Naruto wanted recognition and the power to protect others. He has that now. Also I don't see him doing paperwork and ordering hits. Either something tragic happens, he contains a jubi and has to go to the moon, or he becomes a hermit OR ...
If there is a happy ending it might be focused on Naruto's new dream of changing the ninja world. It may become Sasuke's dream that they share together

Uh, FYI if you break the law it doesn't matter your reasoning or the circumstances you are still punished.

Just by associating with the Akatsuki makes him a criminal.

Say what you want about Danzo, killing him was still an act of treason and murder.

He was trespassing at the Five Kage Summit, attacking the Summit was a very serious crime.

Plus Kishi spent a lot of time making it crystal clear Sasuke could never go back, several characters stated that Sasuke doesn't have a future anymore even Kakashi and Sakura tried to kill him.

He attacked five kage and injured the Fourth Raikage there is no way that was justified.As much I liked Sasuke's change that does'nt make what he did go away and everyone would be out of their minds if they accept Sasuke back with open arms.

Lol, seems like some people didnt read the thread before posting. Sasuke didn't attack the kage meeting. The Raikage attacked him in the meeting and he had to defend himself after Zetsu betrayed his presence. Tobi actually betrayed Sasuke there.
Joining Akatsuki was a crime but at the end what happened, he helped the alliance defeat Akatsuki.

Lol stop defending his reasons for joining Akatsuki, 'he needed to so he could get more power?' that's the biggest pile of bull crap I've ever heard, it was his own selfish reasons that got him into this mess, and like a man he has to face the consequences of these choices.

Sasuke being let off after he's killed innocent people (Samurai) would be absurd also the fact he came to Kage meeting is a crime itself he wasn't invited it's the same with Naruto if he appeared in the Kage meeting he would of been attacked.
