I've been wondering, had sasuke killed his brother and none of that sad backstory dealing with itachi happened, what would he be doing. He couldn't possibly have gone back to the leaf village and he is still quite young.
Would he be playing cat and mouse with naruto the whole rest of the series. Thought?

If he wanted to come back to Konoha he could have come back. You forgetting how those Konoha fodder in the bar said the leaf would probably give him a medal? I doubt he'd come back though. He said his next target was whoever helped Itachi kill the Uchiha, and so he would pursue Obito. After that, he'd probably settle down and start making Uchiha babies like crazy.
