I miss those. Shikamaru used them once and then I guess hung them on his mantle at home or something. Naruto inheriting them would have been more symbolic in the long run.

Indeed! That's what I was referring to. Since Asuma taught him how to grasp the concept and then put one through a rock with wind nature. I feel like those knives wold have held a bigger symbolic meaning to him than Shikamaru. He got the zippy anyway......while he never shows up again either.
