I explained this already. Sasuke defeated was not in battle Naruto even stated that. Naruto won the battle of emotions. He ended the curse of hatred that Sasuke was carrying by himself.

Great comment man. But I don't know, why people thought, Naruto or Sasuke would win. It was destined to be a draw and everyone knew that Sasuke would turn good again. It's a Shounen and saving Sasuke from hatred was Narutos goal. Naruto also always wanted to prove him, that they're equals and he said that they would both die fighting (aka draw).
