I completely agree with you, if people started on Sasuke right now. Naruto would not fight for him. As you said he'd doom everyone including himself and Sasuke so it would be an epic fail!
Naruto would protect him though, but as you said impending doom is incoming, if Kakashi, Kirabi, K11, Kages and Shinobi Alliance really want to turn on the BIGGEST help which will save them from Madara and Juubi (Don't forget Oro etc). Well... it's not gonna happen.

You seem to be forgetting that fact, Oro + Hokage. Hokage are backing Sasuke. Hashirama himself is backing Sasuke, do you understand this? He doesn't want a repeat of the past, he would PROTECT Sasuke, wouldn't fight people, but would protect Sasuke. And people wouldn't go against the Hokage specifically Hashirama. People will listen to him. Smh.

Sasuke needs to get on his hands and knees and beg for forgiveness. As long as he does that, accepts his mistakes, and accepts any punishment that may come his way and takes it like a man... I'll be good. Anything else and to hell with him and Kishi. That's a garbage message to send to readers. Even now Sasuke did not unseal the hokages to help anybody but himself. BESIDES; you're forgetting the fact; Naruto is willing to fight and kill Sasuke / die with him IF he was attacking Konoha and was being evil and not changing from his path, but he has, don't forget that. Many people who know Sasuke will know this. Naruto would forgive him in an instant and would not watch his friend ~ who is also not evil / in the darkness be killed.

ALSO.
Hashirama / Tobirama could explain about the Sharingan etc, and as I said; backing Sasuke vocally. The fact he has overcome the darkness of the Sharingan. People won't go against their word.

I don't care how Suna does their thing. But Konoha should not forgive treason, attempted murder, and terrorism simply because Naruto wants them too. Sasuke certainly deserves punishment. Attempting to justify Sasuke by saying others committed the same crime or worse is a fallacy. Unlike the other people you mentioned, he has a direct hand in the waging war that is now engulfing the whole world.

Sasuke is bad.

He didn't try to attack the Kages. They attacked him, even after he stated that his quarrel was only with Danzo. He would have gone unnoticed if Zetsu hadn't mouthed off.

It's pretty obvious that he will redeem himself, one way or another. I'm just saying that his crimes are not completely unforgivable, as many characters have taken similar actions.

Lol, really? A genjutsu? All it'd take is ONE person E.G. Bee, Naruto, Kakashi to tell them it's not.
People aren't stupid, a lot of Shinobi can tell, especially the big fry as I stated. So no, they wouldn't. =/

I think he won't be killed, but he will be detained and questioned about his actions by whatever Kages are still alive after the war. Once they hear his story with Orochimaru and the edo Kage's to collaborate they might come to an understanding and decide not to kill him or put him in prison. If they do that I think there is much he will have to do to earn their trust again-they will be watching him very closely.

Naruto wouldn't fight against the alliance with Sasuke just to be buddies with him again. He already decided he'd fight Sasuke if it came down to it.

They'll accept Sasuke for now, but later doubt will come about him and he will fight Naruto after this war.
