Common sense really. Sasuke represents the Eyes of the Sage & Naruto represents the Body, if Sasuke gets Sage mode it will be like him havin both Body & eyes. Which means Naruto would need the Sharingan, but obviously that won't happen.

Kishi didn't makes Madara or Obito, Naruto's rival he made Sasuke his rival. They are opposites one won't have what the other has, haven't you noticed Naruro is good at spammin shadow clones, but kishi won't allow Sasuke to even make one.

Kishi can never end it in a sad way like that by allowing Hinata die and give Naruto her eyes...However Kishi might kill Hinata so that Naruto can share the same pain as Obito in other to understand and change him like he did against Pain.
